Job description

A leading professional services firm is seeking a HR Advisor who will offer advice and guidance on key issues such as employee relations, employee performance and employee retention. They will work closely with colleagues across HR & Talent Management. The role will require regular travel across regional offices in Scotland and the north of England.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Manage employee relations issues, resolving matters informally where possible and advising managers and Partners on best practice.
  • Provide day-to-day HR advice and guidance to managers within the client group.
  • Support and deliver HR projects and firm-wide initiatives in collaboration with the HR Lead.
  • Provide guidance, mentoring, and support to the People Operations Administration team.
  • Analyse and present HR data and management information to support effective decision-making.
  • Review and improve People Operations processes to ensure quality, consistency, and value.
  • Work collaboratively across People Operations and People Experience teams, sharing knowledge and best practice.
The role requires
  • Relevant degree, professional training, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience within a professional services, legal, accounting or partnership environment.
  • Strong judgement and problem-solving skills, with awareness of when to elevate complex issues.
  • Strong analytical capability and confidence working with relevant systems and data.
  • High level of IT literacy and commitment to required training (e.g. information security).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills across all organisational levels.
  • Team‑oriented, collaborative approach with the ability to build strong working relationships.
  • Confident presenter with the ability to influence and persuade.
  • Highly committed and proactive, able to act decisively when required.
