Job description

I'm recruiting for a Housing Options Officer to join a housing service operating within the public sector and government. This role is based in London and plays a key part in delivering legally compliant homelessness prevention and housing solutions within the public sector and government. The successful Housing Options Officer will manage a varied caseload, carrying out homelessness assessments, prevention and relief work, and securing appropriate housing outcomes. You will ensure decisions are robust, customer-focused, and aligned with legislation, contributing to service performance across the public sector and government.

Key Duties:
  • Assess and determine homelessness applications in line with legislation and statutory guidance
  • Deliver prevention and relief duties across a range of housing options
  • Make well-reasoned, defensible decisions and produce high-quality written outcomes
  • Arrange and manage temporary accommodation placements where required
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams and external partners to achieve sustainable solutions
  • Maintain accurate case records and contribute to performance reporting and improvement activity
Candidate Profile:
  • Experience in homelessness, housing options, or housing advice
  • Strong knowledge of housing legislation and case law
