Job description

We are seeking a Housing Officer to join our Kent Housing team that is part of the South East Region. You will be responsible for providing a high-quality housing management service that meets the identified needs of customers and the wider community. You will be working in a professional manner to resolve problems and improve services. Each day will involve working as part of a team to respond to resident tenancy related queries in person, email and telephone as well as addressing concerns involving residents homes, the environment and neighbour relations.

Responsibilities
  • Effective management of anti-social behaviour cases
  • Liaising with colleagues in Property Services and Lettings to ensure the effective allocation of void properties
  • Managing tenant expectations regarding repairs and escalating any property maintenance issues affecting tenant welfare via appropriate channels
  • Managing complaints about service delivery
  • Working with colleagues in other service areas to help the organisation meet its compliance obligations (fire safety, water hygiene, gas safety and data protection)
  • Delivering general advice on aspects of tenancy to enable sustainability
  • Working closely with administrative colleagues to complete a range of tenancy management processes
Qualifications
  • Proven experience of undertaking a similar role
  • Prior experience of delivering high quality tenancy services
  • Excellent skills in analysing and diagnosing problems and implementing solutions
  • Ability to build strong working relationships with internal and external customers
  • Excellent customer service and negotiating skills
  • An understanding of Microsoft Office packages including Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • Working knowledge of relevant regulations and good practice
  • Travel is a requirement of the role, therefore a full valid driving licence is essential
