Home, a place where you belong

Join us as a Housing Manager at Home Group, in our awesome housing team in Edinburgh, Fife and West Lothian. You’ll be our face to face customer support to our estates, ensuring we provide safe homes and communities where people choose to live, while also ensuring our income is maximised. You’ll provide first class customer service, delivering our customer promise every day!

What you’ll do
  • Through visibility, engagement with customers and proactivity on our estates, you’ll really get to get to know our communities.
  • You’ll look after a number of patches and neighbourhoods.
  • Proactively manage anti-social behaviours in our estates, respond to customer queries and complaints.
  • Manage our voids process, including liaising with local authorities.
  • Carry out estate inspections, engage and meet with contractors on site, and record routine safety and compliance checks.

This is more than a job, it’s a place where you feel valued. You get great training, support from friendly colleagues and a chance to make a real difference every day. Be part of one of the UK’s top 10 Great Places to Work!

You have
  • Experience in the housing sector and understanding of housing management, housing law and ideally universal credit.
  • Currently or willing to work towards Chartered Institute of Housing Level 3.
  • Super organised and methodical in your approach, proactive self‑starter with a “can do” positive attitude.
  • Resilience to handle challenging complaints.
  • Confidence working with external partners and stakeholders such as local authorities, MPs etc.
  • Team spirit with the understanding that this role involves significant time in local estates.

This is a hybrid role and in an average week you’ll spend days working from our community patches. As a team we’re critical to supporting our customers, so you’ll cover the hours of 9 am to 5 30 pm Monday to Friday. The good news is that you will have a degree of flexibility; it’s the team’s unwritten rule that you attend the important appointments in life.

There may be some flexibility to adapt your working hours; let us know about this when you meet us at the interview.

To get from A to B, you’ll need a valid driving licence and a vehicle insured for business purposes. The great news is that we’ll pay your mileage!

You’ll need a Standard DBS check done and we pay for that.

  • 34 days leave (including bank holidays and a “me day” to use for whatever you fancy), increasing to 39 to buy 5 more, and time off for volunteering.
  • Health cash plan savings of £1,140 per annum; we’ll cover your costs (and kids if you have them) toward dental, optical, prescriptions, alternative therapies and more.
  • Over 800 high street discounts on groceries, holidays and days out.
  • Opportunity to grow within the company (“We Grow Our Own” colleague development). The company has been named 10th Best place in the UK for Wellbeing.
