Job summary

A housing management company in Sunderland seeks a Housing Management Worker to manage a small portfolio of properties and tenancies. The successful candidate will work within a team to support tenants, assist with benefits claims, and ensure tenancy obligations are met. Ideal applicants should have previous housing experience, familiarity with tenancy-related issues, and an enhanced DBS Certificate. This is a temporary ongoing role offering £14.06 PAYE or £18.56 Umbrella.

BDS – Housing Management Worker (Sunderland)

BDS are currently looking for a Housing Management Worker to work within Sunderland.

The role will be to work as part of a team managing a small portfolio of properties and tenancies within an allocated area.

You will work closely with a small group of people to provide an intense housing management service.

Your duties will include:

  • Supporting tenants to manage their tenancy and assist with benefits claims
  • Signposting to relevant organisations
  • Ensuring the correct tenancies are issued and that the tenant understands and accepts the tenancy obligations
  • Maximising rent collection and adhering to the arrears management policies and procedures
  • Ad hoc duties within your remit

The ideal candidate will have previous housing experience, including working with vulnerable adults and children as well as dealing with tenancy-related issues.

You will be required to have an enhanced DBS Certificate dated within the previous 12 months or on the updates service.

You will also need a full UK driving licence, access to your own vehicle and business insurance.

Pay: £14.06 PAYE or £18.56 Umbrella

Schedule: 9 am – 5 pm Mon‑Fri, 40 working hours, 35 paid, 5 hour lunch unpaid.

These roles are temporary ongoing.
