The Development Officer will identify and assess properties for use as temporary homeless accommodation. Working collaboratively with Housing Communities and Housing Quality Teams, they will evaluate suitability, design potential, and planning. The role involves engaging with statutory services, conducting financial viability assessments, and producing detailed reports to support decision-making. This position plays a key role in ensuring safe, appropriate, and cost-effective temporary housing solutions across Powys.

Responsibilities
  • Identify and assess properties for use as temporary homeless accommodation, ensuring suitability and compliance.
  • Collaborate with Housing Communities and Housing Quality teams to evaluate design potential and planning feasibility.
  • Engage with statutory services and partners to support project development and delivery.
  • Conduct financial viability assessments and produce detailed reports to inform decision-making.
  • Respond to identified housing need and contribute to acquisition and redevelopment of accommodation.
  • Lead and manage projects in partnership with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring value for money and strategic alignment.
