Overview

Wakefield Council has a reputation for delivering effective private sector housing services and urban regeneration programmes. Here is an exciting opportunity for someone who has a passion to make a difference to join our Strategic Housing and Regeneration Service to support the delivery of these services. This fast-paced and varied role will deliver the Council's private sector housing improvement and urban regeneration projects and programmes, helping to improve our areas and local housing conditions. This work is a key part of the Council's strategic objectives in its Corporate Plan and Wakefield Housing Plan.

Responsibilities
  • Investigating and responding to empty property complaints
  • Undertaking proactive work and supporting enforcement action to bring empty properties back in to use
  • Supporting the administration and monitoring of large externally funded regeneration projects and programmes
  • Supporting the delivery of regeneration projects, including liaising with partners and stakeholders
  • Delivering Wakefield Responsible Landlord Scheme property inspections and administration

Role Details

This is a Strategic Housing and Regeneration split role reporting to the Housing and Neighbourhood Improvement Manager. It will involve a mix of office, site, and home working, and is based at Wakefield One offices in Wakefield city centre.
