Job Summary

We have a variety of part‑time hours available. The roles will support the Facilities (Hotel Services) team in delivering Housekeeping and Catering services to the National Standards for these services in NHS Wales, HIW standard 5 and 9 and Organisational Standards. To assist in developing, maintaining and promoting the highest standards of service delivery and team working practices; and helping to maintain open, effective communication.

Welsh Skills Desirable

This post is advertised as Welsh Desirable. This doesn’t mean essential; while the candidate doesn’t need to have skills in Welsh, we’ll consider it an advantage when short‑listing and selecting candidates. It’s not ‘fluency’, just speaking & listening skills at Level 3 (equivalent to CEFR B2) or above. Level 3 means basic conversations with patients about their everyday health.

Main Duties
  • Maintaining a high standard of environmental cleanliness
  • Carrying out housekeeping, cleaning and service‑associated semi‑skilled duties, e.g. curtain changes, removal and cleaning of fixtures and fittings, linen
  • Maintaining a safe working environment
  • Providing patient/customer service
  • Attending all relevant staff meetings and training sessions as required by the Housekeeping Manager/supervisors to maintain personal competency and comply with health board or legislative requirements, in accordance with housekeeping policy and procedures, occupational health and health and safety procedures
