About the Property

This beautifully restored six-storey Edwardian property, located in London’s prestigious W1 district, is home to a collection of exclusive, high-end residences and hospitality spaces. The building features fully integrated BMS controls, cutting-edge mechanical and electrical systems, advanced VRV cooling, and a commercial-grade kitchen.

We’re looking for a hands-on, flexible Maintenance Engineer to join our small, highly skilled team and help deliver exceptional standards across the property.

The Role

Working as part of a 3-person engineering team, you’ll be responsible for first-line maintenance on building services as well as general handyman duties and aesthetic upkeep across the property. The role suits a practical all-rounder who’s happy to get stuck in, solve problems, and take pride in their work. You’ll be maintaining both front-of-house and back-of-house areas, supporting M&E plant, and handling everything from HVAC faults to picture hanging and minor repairs. There’s also a strong focus on training and long-term development, with support available for formal qualifications.

Working Hours

  • Standard Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00–17:00
  • Flexibility Required: During key periods (when clients are in residence), the engineering/handyman team may operate flexible shifts or extended hours, including occasional 24-hour cover on rotation.
  • All additional hours are fully compensated through overtime pay or agreed time off in lieu.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct first-line maintenance to the property’s services from handyman functions through to the more complex M&E, HVAC, and plumbing systems. subject to exp
  • Monitor and assist with the operation of a fully BMS-controlled building – training provided
  • Carry out general maintenance and repair tasks, including:
  • Hot water systems, taps, showers, small appliances
  • Minor floor/wall/door repairs and finishes
  • Hanging shelves, pictures, mirrors, fixtures
  • External building upkeep and fabric repairs
  • Assist with maintenance in the commercial kitchen areas
  • Respond promptly to maintenance issues and carry out preventative checks
  • Maintain clean, safe, and professional standards at all times

What We’re Looking For

  • Previous experience in a similar maintenance or facilities role (hotels, luxury residential, commercial buildings).
  • Basic working knowledge and interest in mechanical/electrical systems, HVAC building services.
  • A positive, hands-on attitude and willingness to learn and help out across all areas.
  • Good communications skills and the ability to work discreetly in a premium environment.
  • Comfortable with flexible working during busier periods (with appropriate compensation).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Not essential; practical experience is more important – NVQ, City & Guilds, or other trade qualification in carpentry, plumbing, electrical, or mechanical systems.
  • Health & Safety awareness (manual handling, COSHH, risk assessments).
