Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) - Secondary School

Location: Watford

Contract: Full-time, Permanent

We are seeking a committed and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our supportive and forward-thinking secondary school in Watford on a full-time, permanent basis.

The successful candidate will work closely with teaching staff to support learning across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, helping students to achieve their full potential both academically and personally.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver learning activities to individuals, small groups, or whole classes under the direction of teaching staff
  • Support students across KS3 and KS4, including those with additional learning needs
  • Assist in planning, preparing, and adapting learning resources
  • Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teachers
  • Promote positive behaviour, engagement, and inclusion in the classroom
  • Provide classroom cover where appropriate
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
  • HLTA status, diploma, or a relevant qualification (desirable)
  • Experience working with secondary-aged students, particularly KS3 and KS4
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
