Job description

Overview

We are recruiting for a qualified HLTA, you may have a QTS looking for a Teaching Assistant role. This position will commence in September to cover PPA across all year groups within a Primary school setting.

Responsibilities

• The role will be 4 days per week: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
• The school performs PPA slightly differently to the majority of schools; teachers receive a full day every two weeks instead of half a day per week.
• The HLTA will cover classes when teachers have PPA, typically taking charge of one class for a full day on a timetable.
• Occasionally, the HLTA will be allocated a day of PPA every two weeks to plan lessons and, together with the teacher, will take charge of one subject to teach (e.g., arithmetic or guided reading/reading comprehension).

Qualifications

• You will have previous experience as an HLTA and be qualified to HLTA level or hold an equivalent qualification.

Safeguarding
