Health & Safety Advisor - Highways Framework | Liverpool | £50,000

Be the safety lead across a long-term highways framework in Liverpool.

You will be stepping into a key Health & Safety Advisor role supporting a busy highways framework, where your expertise will directly influence site standards, workforce wellbeing and consistent, high-quality project delivery. You will be supporting my client, a well‑established contractor delivering multiple schemes through a long‑term highways framework in Liverpool. The business has a strong pipeline of work across highways and civil engineering, with a reputation for investing in people, promoting best practice and maintaining excellent Health & Safety performance across its sites.

What you will be doing day to day

As a Health & Safety Advisor, you will be embedded within the framework delivery team and trusted as the go‑to safety professional. Your responsibilities will include:

  • You will be advising site and project teams on all Health & Safety matters across a highways framework.
  • You will be carrying out site inspections, audits and risk assessments across multiple schemes, ensuring compliance with HSG, CDM and company standards.
  • You will be supporting accident and near‑miss investigations and implementing corrective actions.
  • You will be delivering toolbox talks, briefings and safety inductions.
  • You will be monitoring subcontractor compliance and promoting a positive, proactive safety culture.
  • You will be working closely with project management to drive continuous improvement in Health & Safety performance.
What you’ll need to bring

To succeed, you will ideally have:

  • Proven experience within highways, infrastructure or civil engineering.
  • A NEBOSH General or Construction Certificate (or equivalent).
  • A strong understanding of CDM Regulations and highways safety standards.
  • Confidence communicating with site teams at all levels.
  • A proactive, solutions‑focused approach to Health & Safety.
