An NHS Trust in London is seeking a Highly Specialist Pharmacist for Emergency & Acute Medicine. This is an exciting opportunity to join our dynamic, innovative and friendly team dedicated to improving our ward based clinical pharmacy services. In this key post you will be working as part of an established multidisciplinary team and be responsible for providing a high-quality clinical pharmacy service to our Emergency Department and Admissions wards.
The post holder will work closely with the Pharmacy Lead - Emergency and Acute Medicine and Principal Pharmacist - Clinical Services to monitor and control the drug use within Emergency and Acute Medicine. They will lead on the strategic development of the pharmacy clinical and ward based services and lead on reducing risks associated with medicines within Emergency and Admissions wards.
As an enthusiastic and patient oriented pharmacist, you will combine expert opinion and expert practice at the bedside to benefit patient care, and work at the forefront within the multidisciplinary team to help us implement, deliver and continually improve medicines management. Overall, you will be responsible for optimizing medicines prescribed on admission, making timely pharmaceutical interventions and facilitating rapid discharge; thereby facilitating high quality patient outcomes whilst ensuring patient safety.
This position offers the opportunity to build on your management experience and specialise in Emergency and Acute Medicine. You will need excellent communication, interpersonal and time management skills and will need to enjoy working as part of a multidisciplinary team. You will need post-registration experience relevant to hospital pharmacy and will have the Post Graduate Diploma in General Pharmacy Practice or equivalent qualification.
