Overview

Highly Specialist Cardiac Physiologist - Cath Lab/Cardiac Device

The closing date is 30 September 2025

We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated experienced Cardiac Cath Lab/Cardiac Device physiologist/Clinical Scientist to work within our rapidly developing diagnostic Unit.

The department offers a broad range of invasive and non-invasive diagnostic tests, including a wide range of ambulatory monitoring, physiologist led/medically supervised ETT, Echocardiography, diagnostic Cardiac Catheterisation, Cardiac Device implantation and follow-up (pacemakers, resynchronisation, high voltage devices and conduction system pacing).

Applicants must hold a BSc in Clinical Physiology (Cardiology) or equivalent.

RCCP/HCPC registration.

Main duties of the job

We are looking to appoint someone who will relish the challenge of being part of our team and possess the initiative and drive to complement the responsibility of this role.

The post holder will work as part of a team of cardiac physiologists based in the Cardiac Physiology department, providing a quality service to both inpatients and outpatients.

They will be required to undertake a range of complex activities of a highly specialist nature (Cardiac Cath Lab/Cardiac Device), ensuring that they provide a high standard of care to all patients accessing the service within the resources available. Working across the sites within Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board (CTMUHB) as service requires.

Welsh Skills Desirable: This post is advertised as Welsh Desirable. This doesn\'t mean essential; whilst the candidate doesn\'t need to have skills in Welsh, we\'ll consider it an advantage when short-listing and selecting candidates. This isn\'t \'fluency\', just Speaking & Listening skills at Level 3 (equivalent to CEFR B2) or above. Level 3 means basic conversations with patients about their everyday health. Person Specification
  • BSc Clinical Physiology (Cardiology)/Healthcare Science Cardiac science or equivalent skills, knowledge and experience
  • Masters Level qualification in a relevant subject eg Healthcare Scientist Cardiac Device, HRUK/IBHRE
  • Relevant post graduate experience working as a Clinical Physiologist/Healthcare Science Practioner, delivering a wide range of invasive and noninvasive cardiac diagnostic procedures.
  • MSc Clinical assessment.
  • Welsh language speaking/listening skills at a Level 3 or above
