Job description

I am seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant primary school community on the outskirts of Knutsford. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference across the whole school, working with children from Early Years Foundation Stage through to Year 6.

About the Role

You will provide high-quality support across all key stages, working flexibly to meet the needs of our pupils and staff. You will be covering a maternity leave position, supporting teaching and learning throughout the school. The role is to start January 2025 to cover maternity role

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver learning activities to individuals, groups, and whole classes under the guidance of teaching staff
• Support pupils across EYFS to Year 6, adapting your approach to suit different age groups and abilities
• Assess, monitor, and record pupil progress
• Maintain positive behaviour management and create an engaging learning environment
• Work collaboratively with teachers, support staff, and parents
• Supervise and provide guidance to other teaching assistants where appropriate

About You

Essential

• HLTA status or equivalent qualification
• Experience working across multiple key stages in a primary school setting
• Strong understanding of the EYFS curriculum and KS1/KS2 National Curriculum
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work flexibly and adapt to the needs of different year groups
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
