Overview

We have an exciting opportunity for a Higher Level Teaching Assistant to complement the professional work of teachers by taking responsibility for learning activities across Key Stage 2. The role will involve planning, preparing and delivering learning activities for individuals/groups/whole classes and monitoring pupils; assessing, recording and reporting on pupils' achievement, progress and development.

Contract and salary

Hours: 32.5 hours per week, term time only plus 5 training days (195 days)

Grade: 8, Scp 25-28, £27,805 - £29,938 per annum (actual salary)

Responsibilities
  • Meet the Higher Level Teaching Assistant standards (or be willing to work towards).
  • Have attended training in relevant educational strategies.
  • Set challenging and demanding expectations to promote self-esteem, resilience and independence.
  • Have experience of working with children of relevant age in a learning environment and supporting children with SEND needs.
  • Assist in the monitoring of children’s responses to learning activities, making use of the school’s tracking data, completing accurate records and reports.
  • Provide detailed and regular feedback to teachers on pupils’ attainment, progress, behaviour and attitudes to learning.
  • Plan and evaluate learning and assist in the recording of pupils’ progress.
