Job summary

A transportation solutions provider in Portlethen is seeking qualified HGV Technicians who will perform repairs, diagnostics, and service inspections on a variety of trucks. Ideal candidates will hold NVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds qualifications, possess strong problem-solving skills, and demonstrate leadership capabilities. Responsibilities

  • Carry out regular MOT service inspections on a wide range of trucks.
  • Perform repairs on engines, gearboxes, brakes, and suspension systems.
  • Assist in the fault diagnosis process and service customer vehicles.
  • Keep workshop facilities and tools clean, tidy, and well maintained.

What you will be doing
  • Our Technicians are responsible carrying out regular MOT service inspections on a wide range of manufacturers’ trucks. Fault finding, carrying out repairs on engines, gearboxes brakes, suspension systems etc.
  • Carry out repairs to a high standard according to Volvo procedures, safely and responsibly
  • Assist in the fault diagnosis process
  • Service Customer Vehicles and complete service sheets.
  • Road test vehicles when required (if you hold an HGV license)
  • Assist with roadside breakdowns.
  • Process all relevant paperwork relating to jobs accurately
  • Ensure all vehicle defects are reported
  • Keep all workshop facilities, equipment, and tools clean, tidy and well maintained
  • Help us in supporting the development of trainees and apprentices
