Job summary

A leading recruitment agency in the transport industry is seeking an experienced HGV Technician for an ongoing temporary contract near Didcot. Candidates should be fully qualified and experienced in the repair of LGV or HGV vehicles. This role involves fault diagnosis, repairs, and supporting the workshop team. Qualifications

• Experience working with a variety of LGV or HGV vehicles.
• Apprentice trained and fully qualified Technician.

Responsibilities

• Electrical, mechanical and hydraulic fault diagnosis, repair and installation.
• Setting and operating machine tools and equipment.
• Conducting Department of Transport (MOT) testing duties.
• Supporting workshop team members including Apprentice Technicians.
• Accurately recording time to complete jobs.
• Using skills to maximise workshop efficiency.

Skills

Level 3 in Heavy Goods Vehicle maintenance & repair or equivalent

Strong customer service skills

Good attention to detail

Ability to work autonomously

Ability to tackle all aspects of vehicle repair and servicing

Diagnostics skills

HGV Technician

Oxford

Days – upto 60 hour week - Monday to Friday or 4 on 4 off - days

The Automotive Maintenance division of Questech currently have an exciting new position, located near Didcot. This is an opportunity to work on a mixed fleet of NHS and local authority vehicles. This is an ongoing temporary contract with the option of a permanent contract for the right individuals.

This is a days role and can be PAYE, UMBRELLA OR LTD.

We are looking for Technicians / mechanics from a Commercial, HGV, PSV or LGV background.

You will be an apprentice trained, fully qualified Technician that has experience working with a variety of LGV or HGV vehicles

ROLE

• Electrical, mechanical and hydraulic fault diagnosis, repair and installation
• Setting and operating of machine tools and equipment
• Department of Transport (MOT) testing duties (if approved tester)
• Support workshops team members including Apprentice Technicians as required.
• Accurately record time to complete jobs and associated details
• Use of skills and performance of other work within normal grade / job skills as required by the Workshop Supervisor to maximise workshop efficiency

Skills & Experience

• Level 3 in Heavy Goods Vehicle maintenance & repair or an equivalent qualification
• Strong customer service skills
• Good attention to detail
• Ability to work autonomously
• Ability to work within given time frames
• Ability to tackle all aspects of vehicle repair and servicing.
