Job summary

A leading recycling company in Barking is looking for an HGV Technician to inspect, maintain, and repair their fleet of LGV/HGV vehicles. The successful candidate will carry out essential inspections and repairs to ensure legal compliance and safety. This role offers an annual salary of £40,000 - £55,000 along with benefits such as holiday days, pension scheme, and opportunities for training and progression.

Qualifications

  • Must hold a relevant mechanical engineering qualification to Level 3 as a minimum.
  • Previous experience of working on HGV/LGV vehicles.
  • Hold Class 1/C+E driving licence – desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure all company vehicles are kept legal and roadworthy.
  • Conduct thorough inspections to identify any potential problems and safety concerns.
  • Conduct PMIs (Preventative Maintenance Inspections) and associated documentation.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults using diagnostic tools.

Overview

My client is a leading recycling company based in Barking, East London. Due to continued expansion, they now have a position for a HGV Technician to join their small team at their site. The successful HGV Technician will carry out inspection, diagnostics, service, maintenance and repair of the company’s fleet of LGV/HGV vehicles. This is an exciting time to join the company as it embarks on a period of growth.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure all company vehicles are kept legal and roadworthy.
  • Conduct thorough inspections to identify any potential problems and safety concerns.
  • Ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of repairs.
  • Conduct PMIs (Preventative Maintenance Inspections) and associated documentation.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults using diagnostic tools (Texa & Eclipse).
Requirements
  • Must hold a relevant mechanical engineering qualification to Level 3 as a minimum.
  • Previous experience of working on HGV/LGV vehicles.
  • Able to work well under pressure and on own initiative.
  • Hold Class 1/C+E driving licence – desirable.
