  • Salary: £35,412 - £38,220
  • Fixed-term contract for 12 months
  • Based in Alltami Depot

The Streetscene portfolio is seeking suitable applicants for the above post, which is based within the Fleet Workshop in Alltami.

The postholder must be a time-served and experienced LGV mechanic qualified to a minimum of City & Guilds Maintenance & Repair (Heavy Vehicles) Level 3. The successful candidate must have a wide range of knowledge on maintenance issues relating to specialist vehicles and plant, including welding, fabrication, auto electrics, hydraulic repairs, pneumatic repairs, diagnostics, and MOT preparation.

The successful candidate will be responsible for repairs and maintenance of a variety of vehicles, plant, and machinery. They should have a good standard of practical knowledge and skill to operate a wide range of equipment, while considering the health and safety of the public and colleagues.

The postholder will be required to follow verbal and written instructions, complete daily schedules, and use appropriate mobile communication and IT support systems where applicable, while maintaining, servicing, and repairing all Council vehicles, plant, and equipment in accordance with relevant legislation and policies.

Successful candidates will be expected to carry out specialist and technically based vehicle maintenance tasks that require a high degree of skill, technical knowledge, and experience.
