Job summary

A prominent Waste Management firm is seeking a skilled HGV Mechanic to join their team in Coventry. You will work on a modern fleet of HGVs and trailers, handling everything from scheduled servicing and fault diagnosis to MOT presentations. This role offers a salary between £46,000 and £50,000, with additional overtime compensation. The ideal candidate will have a relevant engineering qualification and a strong understanding of fault diagnosis and health and safety practices.

Benefits

2x on Sundays and Bank Holidays
Core Monday - Friday hours

HGV Mechanic Job Overview

Our client are a leading Waste Management firm that have UK and European wide coverage. Due to expansion they are actively looking for a skilled HGV Mechanic to join their team. You will be working within a small team of HGV technicians. You'll work on a modern and diverse fleet of RORO, Artic & Rigid HGV's and Trailers.

Responsibilities
  • Carry out both scheduled, servicing, inspections, Pre-MOT inspections and unscheduled repairs to a high standard
  • MOT Presentation
  • Fault diagnosis
  • Welding and fabricating
  • Attend internal and external training
  • Complete all paperwork in a timely and accurate manner
Qualifications
  • Relevant engineering qualification (preferably within the motor transport sector).
  • Ability to diagnose and rectify faults
  • Basic hydraulic knowledge
  • Good health and safety awareness
  • Must be able to work under their own initiative with a flexible approach to meeting the needs of the customer (internal)

  • Salary £46,000 - £50,000
