Overview

Job type: Permanent, full-time

Working Hours: 38 hours per week, Tuesday to Friday 6am–4pm, with occasional weekend work and overtime

Salary: £30,117.80 per annum + excellent benefits

Serco's Environmental Services provide a complete waste and recycling service for the residents and community in Charnwood. We have a professional, dedicated and friendly team of Street Cleansing and Refuse Collection staff who keep streets, homes and businesses clean and improve the environment. We are seeking like-minded HGV Drivers to join our team of essential key workers.

Responsibilities

• Be the public face of Serco's Environmental Services in the community; complete vehicle safety checks and ensure the truck is clean and work-ready before starting rounds.
• Work with a team of Refuse Loaders to collect waste and recycling from residential and commercial properties on your pre-planned route.
• Support the team to hit targets and contribute to maintaining a safe, clean and tidy community environment.

What you’ll need

• Valid HGV Cat C driving licence
• Driver CPC
• Plenty of enthusiasm and a positive attitude
• Willingness to help Loaders during rounds to achieve team targets
• Flexibility with shift patterns and a strong customer service orientation
• Previous experience in refuse collection or street cleansing is not essential; training will be provided
