Job description
What you will enjoy doing
  • This role is all about delivering a caring and patient focused delivery of our Home Oxygen service to patients, which includes the efficient installation, replenishment, service, and removal of medical oxygen systems to patients in their homes, on time and in full
  • You will act as the specialist, supporting and training patients and their carers in the safe use of the system using practical demonstrations, online videos and our skilled 24 / 7 patient service to reassure them
  • In addition, you will collaborate and represent BOC within the community with providers such as the fire services, primary care, social services, and the respiratory team
  • The nature of this role means you will prioritise patients needs, including urgent hospital discharges or holiday plans, and provide information on oxygen delivery and electricity reimbursements at times
  • Furthermore, you will communicate respectfully but efficiently with patients, whilst carrying out emergency deliveries as needed, and promoting the online Home Oxygen portal service
  • You will call out any equipment issues or shortages to senior staff and be flexible with working hours and call-out arrangements as needed
  • And lastly, you will demonstrate personal sensitivity, prioritise safety and quality, ensuring the consistency of work quality, and giving our patients confidence in BOC
What makes you great
  • You are required to have a clean UK driving licence for this role
  • As a naturally safety conscious person, we would like somebody who prioritises safety
  • You have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, at all levels
  • Furthermore, you have the highest level of empathy and emotional intelligence required to support patients within the community
  • You would describe yourself as flexible and adaptable
  • Healthcare experience would be ideal but it is not essential for this role, as we will provide appropriate training
  • And lastly, you must also have a high level of personal integrity, aligned to the values of being an inclusive workplace
