Overview

Healthcare Assistant - Ward 40. Permanent vacancy. Band 2. Various hours available. We have an exciting opportunity to join the Ward 40 Team. If you are a healthcare assistant looking to work in a fast-paced, energetic, caring and supportive environment then this is the post for you.

Responsibilities
  • Assist qualified nursing staff, as directed by the Nurse in charge, and help carry out treatments as required.
  • Report on the general condition/appearance of patients to the Senior Nurse on duty. Maintain personal contact with patients during conversations and treatments.
  • Maintain high standards of patient care and staff morale through personal conduct and appearance. Participate in quality initiatives at ward and departmental level. Attend ward/departmental meetings and training as required.
  • Maintain department housekeeping standards under the direction of the Ward Sister.
  • Notify the Senior Sister of any problems or issues related to your area of work.

Note: Before performing these tasks, proven training must be received and documented in the training pack.

Qualifications & Requirements
  • Experience as a Healthcare Assistant or equivalent is desirable.

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills; ability to engage with patients and colleagues.
