Overview

Wathwood is an award‑winning mental health hospital that prides itself on providing the highest quality of care to patients. We are looking for caring, motivated individuals to join our multidisciplinary teams as Care Assistants in a unique Medium Secure setting.

Responsibilities

As a Care Assistant you will work as part of a team on a ward that operates 24‑hour rotations. Your duties will include:

  • Delivering high standards of care to patients, supporting their day‑to‑day needs and assisting with personal care.
  • Working collaboratively within a nursing team to manage care packages and care plans.
  • Participating in communication and feedback with supervisors and nursing staff.
  • Supporting patients’ reintegration into the community through rehabilitation and recovery activities.
  • Maintaining good order and cleanliness on the ward and following secure environment procedures.
  • Actively promoting a responsible caring attitude at all times and treating patients with dignity and respect.
Qualifications
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a multi‑disciplinary team.
  • Be committed to providing the highest standards of care.
  • Promote and maintain high standards of care through excellent communication, motivation, supervision and role modelling.
  • Experience of working in a forensic setting is desirable but not essential.
