Healthcare Assistant - Fletcher Ward

Fletcher ward is an 18 bedded inpatient acute ward, which provides a safe environment for assessment and treatment of service users that are aged 18 and above with a mental health condition.

The staff team on Fletcher ward consist of registered nurses, consultant psychiatrists, health care assistants, occupational therapists, activity co-coordinators, admin and a psychologist.

Patients admitted to Fletcher ward may be experiencing acute distress and present with a significant deterioration in mental state, risk of self-harm, self-neglect, or harm to others. We also support patients that may be admitted informally or detained under a section of the mental health act.

Shifts will include day, night and twilight hours.

On Fletcher ward we aim to provide a holistic approach to recovery and rehabilitation within a safe environment. We value positive risk taking to enable clients to move forward with their lives and promote recovery. We aim to provide person-centered care in every aspect of our role and promote patient involvement in their care and treatment plans.

We aim to achieve an individual service user's potential in a collaborative relationship, by addressing concerns raised by the service user by supporting, empowering, and encouraging them to take control of their lives.

Within the Fletcher team, we all try to listen calmly, respectfully, and patiently to others and treat everyone in a kind courteous manner. We will all try to be open and honest and work together to promote positive change and recovery.

Fletcher ward is a busy environment, and the needs of each individual cannot always be met instantly but should be met in a timely manner. The safety of the staff and patients here is the team's priority.
