We are looking for either an experienced HCA or an aspiring HCA who is willing to undergo training to join our well-established nursing team. Working 35 hours per week. The successful applicant will work under the direct supervision of the Nurse Team Leads at each site, which comprise of the Manor Practice, Northbourne Medical Centre and Shoreham Health Centre.
Main duties of the job
- Supportthe practice nursing team with health promotion programmes
- Carryout baseline observations such as pulse oximetry, blood pressure, temperature,pulse rate, and BMI recording findings accurately
- Facilitateroutine and 24-hour BP monitoring, advising patients accordingly
- Undertakesimple wound care, dressings, stitch removal, and other clinical tasks asrequired
- Undertakevenepuncture
- Carryout ECGs as requested
- Carryout B12 injections
- Whentrained, carry out ear irrigation under the supervision of the practice nurse
- Supportthe practice nurse with the management of chronic disease clinics including annualdiabetes reviews (including foot checks), learning disability reviews andmental health reviews
- Carryout NHS Health Checks
- Ensurespecimens are recorded and ready for onward transportation
- Providesupport during minor operations and Gynaecological clinics as required
- Ensureall clinical rooms are adequately stocked and prepared for each session
- Ensurefridges are cleaned routinely in accordance with extant guidance
- Ensureclinical waste is removed from clinical areas and sharps bins replaced inaccordance with the practice IPC policy

Person Specification
Qualifications
- Healthcare qualification (level 3 or 4) or working towards gaining equivalent level
- Ear syringing certification
