InHealth is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Healthcare Assistant to join our breast screening team at the Jarvis Breast Centre, Surrey. This part-time role (22.5 hours per week) offers the opportunity to make a real difference in women’s health by supporting patients throughout their breast screening and assessment journey. Working alongside experienced clinicians, you will provide professional, empathetic care in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. You will help ensure patients feel reassured, respected, and supported at all times, contributing to high-quality, safe, and effective service delivery. This role is ideal for individuals with healthcare experience who are passionate about patient care and want to be part of a supportive, patient-focused team. You will gain valuable experience in breast screening and assessment, with opportunities for training and career development.
As a Healthcare Assistant, you will support women undergoing breast assessments, ensuring their dignity, privacy, and comfort at all times. You will assist clinicians before, during, and after procedures, providing reassurance and guidance to patients, and preparing and maintaining clinical equipment. You will be responsible for keeping accurate records while maintaining confidentiality, supporting a safe and clean environment in line with health and safety policies, and acting as a patient advocate. You will work closely with colleagues to ensure smooth clinic operations and effective communication with patients, carers, and team members. The role requires empathy, strong communication skills, and the ability to respond sensitively to patients in distress. Basic IT skills and understanding of data protection are essential, and knowledge of women’s health or the NHS Breast Screening Programme is desirable.

Contract Type: 22.5 hours per week (set days: Monday, Tuesday, and either Wednesday or Thursday)
Salary: £23,000 - £25,000 pro rata

A caring, professional, and empathetic approach to patient care. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Experience in a healthcare setting. The ability to support patients in distress with sensitivity. Basic IT skills and an understanding of data protection. An interest in women’s health.
Knowledge of the NHS Breast Screening Programme. NVQ qualification (or willingness to undertake). Understanding of health promotion.
