We have an exciting opportunity for a Healthcare Assistant to join the Primary Care team at Gatwick Immigration Removal Centre (IRC).

This is a crucial role within the healthcare team, making a real difference to patients, and delivering outstanding care. Gatwick IRC is a detention centre based on the grounds of Gatwick Airport.

Hours: This is a full-time role, with healthcare being offered 24/7 to patients. Shifts are 07:00 - 19:30

Salary: This position is full-time, you'll receive an annual salary of up to £31,017 per annum.

Main Duties of the Job

As a Healthcare Assistant, your responsibilities will vary. You will

  • Support the registered nurse in implementing an agreed plan of care in association with the patient and in accordance with instructions and training received whilst promoting safe patient care
  • Be willing to develop and apply new skills to maintain and enhance clinical service delivery.

Qualifications Required
  • NVQ level 2/3 or equivalent in Health and Social Care

  • Good IT skills and IT literacy
  • Ability to work within a busy environment
  • Ability to work unsupervised whilst following policy and procedures

Although not essential, ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital, community or prison environment.
