About this job

As part of the ward team, support the wards senior nursing staff by assisting them to produce the best possible standards of care and practice from within the available resources.

Carry out assigned duties involving direct patient care in support of and supervised by a registered nurse.

Ensure confidentiality, dignity, privacy and respect for patients at all times.

Assist and participate in activities to meet occupational needs of the patients in their care.

Carry out enhanced observations of patients/clients.

Ensure that all patient contact is practised within the philosophy of person centred care.

Ensure that all communication is effective, clear and precise.

Manual handling of patients, using lifting aids and safety intervention Escort patients/clients from the ward / department as required, ensuring their safety at all times.

Maintain the orderliness, hygiene and safety of the ward/department environment.
