Are you passionate about developing people, driving high-quality learning experiences, and ensuring technical and safety excellence? Thames Water is seeking a Health & Safety Training Consultant to support the design, delivery, and continual improvement of our Health & Safety and Operational Technical training.

What you’ll be doing as a Health & Safety Training Consultant

In this role, you’ll play a key part in ensuring our employees and contractors have the knowledge, skills, and competencies to work safely, effectively, and in line with internal standards and external regulations.

  • Deliver high-quality Health & Safety and Operational Technical training with consistent standards and strong learner engagement
  • Promote strong learner engagement through effective facilitation techniques
  • Update, improve and create training materials using a blended 70/20/10 learning approach
  • Use digital systems to record learner competence and explore new, effective delivery methods
  • Review, update and maintain existing training content in line with changes to processes, legislation or equipment to keep training current
  • Explore alternative delivery mediums and collaborate with Design Studio, H&S, Operations and L&D teams to enhance learning experiences
  • Maintain active proficiency in MS Office, SharePoint, Viva Engage and other communication tools
  • Work closely with stakeholders to understand needs, gather feedback, and support competency development as a subject matter expert
  • Visit operational sites to observe training applied in practice, identifying opportunities for improvement
  • Work closely with the wider Field Ops training team to upskill and support the delivery of Clean and Wastewater training where time allows
  • As a Health & Safety Training Consultant, you will be expected to deliver training across the whole Thames Water geographical area, so travelling is an expectation of the role.

Base location: Hybrid - Wraysbury Reservoir

Working hours: 36 hours, Monday to Friday

What you should bring to the role

To thrive in this role, the essential criteria you’ll need is:

  • Experience delivering training, with a minimum Level 3 training qualification or equivalent technical experience
  • A genuine passion for sharing knowledge and supporting learner development
  • Strong communication, engagement, and relationship-building skills
  • A proactive mindset with a commitment to continuous improvement
  • Willing and able to travel extensively across the Thames Water region
  • Full driving licence is required

Additional skills and experiences would be great to have/bring:

  • IOSH/NEBOSH qualifications
  • Experience is desirable in one or several key Health & Safety disciplines such as Confined Spaces, Working at Height, First Aid etc
