A global real estate firm in Greater London seeks a Health & Safety Permits Coordinator to ensure the smooth operation of the Safe Permit System. Responsibilities include reviewing permits, delivering training, and ensuring compliance across various projects. Role Summary: As a Control of Works/ Safe Permit coordinator, you will collaborate with colleagues, vendor partners, and the client to support smooth operations of our client's Safe Permit System.
You’ll provide workflow support to all departments using contractors, supply partners, and vendors. Specifically you’ll be responsible for assuring applications for access, or to do work, meet legal and company safe system recommendations. The ideal candidate will be organized, proactive and will show initiative to keep the facilities safe and maintain a smooth flow of all general and high risk activities within the client buildings.
You will understand our systems and processes, and will contribute to the improvement of both. You will be an expert in the requirements of safely controlling work and spaces, and you will be able to explain the requirements of this to others. You will be organised and follow up with users of your service to ensure it is effective and delivers customer satisfaction. You will be confident that anyone receiving a permit to work has followed a reasonable and systematic safe system.

High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required. Minimum four years of HSE related experience.
Fundamental knowledge of federal, state and local health and safety, and environmental regulations preferred. Direct experience dealing with regulatory agencies and / or compliance officers is beneficial.
As required by local authority (if required).
Ability to comprehend and interpret instructions, short correspondence, and memos and ask clarifying questions to ensure understanding. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from clients, co-workers, and/or supervisor. Ability to effectively present information to an internal department and/or large groups of employees.
Requires basic knowledge of financial terms and principles. Ability to calculate simple figures such as percentages.
Ability to understand and carry out general instructions in standard situations. Ability to solve problems in standard situations. Requires basic analytical skills.
Ability to follow detailed instructions and work with a sense of urgency.
Decisions made with general understanding of procedures and company policies to achieve set results and deadlines. Errors in judgment may cause short-term impact to co-workers and supervisor.
