Job Title: Site-Based Health & Safety Manager - c108-Week Contract
Location: Chester area
Salary: £50,000 - £65,000 per annum

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Site-Based Health & Safety Manager to join our team on a high-profile demolition project. This role isCommands crucial in ensuring the highest standards of health, safety, and environmental compliance on site, while supporting the successful delivery of the project.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a role model for health and safety on site, wearing appropriate personal protective equipment and observing all safety procedures.
- Ensure all project activities are conducted safely, prioritising health and safety at all times.
- Liaise daily with clients and third‑party stakeholders on health and safety matters.
- Prepare or review comprehensive task‑specific Method Statements and Risk Assessments.
- Monitor site health and safety arrangements, making recommendations to the Site Manager to ensure full compliance.
- Develop and implement site‑specific safety and quality control plans alongside the site management team.
- Produce Health & Safety Risk Assessments for all site staff, ensuring safe working practices are followed.
- ConductRoinspections and site audits, recommending remedial actions where necessary.
- Keep abreast of changes in legislation and relevant guidance, providing advice where appropriate.
- Report near misses and incidents promptly to the Contracts Director and Company Health & Safety Manager in accordance with company procedures and RIDDOR.

Qualifications & Experience
- NVQ Level 6 (or previous Level 4) in Occupational Health & Safety or NEBOSH Diploma.
- CSCS Black Card – Health & Safety Professional (Construction) or Black Card Demolition Manager.
- First Aid certification.
- Proven experience in the demolition or construction industry.
- Experience within the nuclear sector is highly desirable.
- Valid UK driving licence.
