Job summary

A growing organisation in South Lanarkshire is seeking a Health & Safety Advisor to coordinate the planning, implementing, and monitoring of H&S policies in compliance with legislation. You will maintain knowledge of relevant HSE legislation, develop compliant policies, and ensure performance improvement in safety practices. Ideal candidates should have a NEBOSH General Certificate and experience in Health & Safety within a manufacturing environment. Excellent communication skills are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a Health & Safety role within a manufacturing environment is required.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills are necessary.
  • Working knowledge of relevant HSE legislation is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain knowledge of all relevant HSE legislation and ensure compliance.
  • Develop and implement compliant company policies and procedures.
  • Establish and report measures of HSE performance across the business.
  • Implement and review Health and Safety arrangements in line with ISO45001.

Job description

Excellent opportunity to join a growing organisation who are currently recruiting for a Health & Safety Advisor to coordinate in planning, implementing and monitoring all policies and procedures which comply with H&S legislation. This role is based in South Lanarkshire.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain a working knowledge of all relevant HSE legislation and ensure the company has clarity with regard to all its statutory obligations.
  • Lead the development and writing of compliant company policies, procedures and practice for all operations at both facilities. Ensure all necessary risk assessments are carried out and regularly reviewed and practicable solutions implemented to mitigate risk to all on site.
  • Establish and report measures of HSE performance across the business and adopt a proactive approach to continuous improvement of HSE practices.
  • Responsible for the implementation, development, and review of the sites Health and Safety arrangements, in line with ISO45001, to ensure adherence with all Group and site procedures and local instructions, providing a robust quality system and an Integrated Business Management System (IBMS).
Qualifications
  • Previous experience working in a Health & Safety role within a manufacturing environment.
  • NEBOSH General Certificate.
  • Working knowledge of relevant HSE legislation.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills.
  • Experience in Health and Safety management, with a focus on Energy From Waste/Biomass or Electricity Production would be desirable.
