Health & Safety Administrator – Birstall

Monday to Thursday 9-5 - Friday 9-4.30

Are you looking to develop your career in Health & Safety? We have an excellent opportunity for a Health & Safety Administrator to join a busy HSEQ team, supporting the H&S Manager and wider business.

This role is ideal for someone proactive, organised, and keen to build a long-term career in Health & Safety. Full training and support will be provided, with the chance to work towards recognised qualifications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide administration support to the HSEQ department, maintaining accurate records and documentation.
  • Assist with the maintenance of management systems aligned to ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001.
  • Support the development and monitoring of health & safety policies, procedures, and risk assessments.
  • Manage training records, identify future requirements, and coordinate external training courses.
  • Maintain COSHH registers and ensure safety documentation is up to date.
  • Prepare and monitor project-based H&S files, reports, and inspections.
  • Liaise with colleagues, subcontractors, and suppliers to share relevant H&S information.
  • Support reporting requirements including waste management data, tender trackers, and project matrices.

  • Confident communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Discreet when handling sensitive information.
  • A genuine interest in health, safety, and environmental management.
  • Flexible, adaptable, and keen to learn.
Desired Experience & Qualifications
  • Previous administration experience within HSEQ, construction, or a related field is advantageous.
  • Working towards a Level 3 Health & Safety qualification (e.g., NEBOSH General Certificate) or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of sustainability and environmental management would be an advantage.
