A prominent NHS Trust is seeking a Health and Justice Support, Time, Recovery Worker based in Staffordshire. The role involves supporting individuals prior to and post-release from prison, addressing health and social care needs, and fostering rehabilitation. The ideal candidate will have experience in health care and knowledge of the Criminal Justice System. An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Health and Justice Reconnect team for the role of Health and Justice Support, Time, Recovery Worker based in Staffordshire. The role may include visits to prisons to support people prior to release throughout Staffordshire including HMP /YOI Brinsford, HMP Dovegate, HMP/YOI Drake Hall, HMP Featherstone, HMP Oakwood, HMP Stafford, HMP/YOI Swinfen Hall and YOI Werrington. A significant amount of time will be spent supporting Service Users in the community post release from prison or immigration removal centre. The Health and Justice services identify people who have substance misuse, mental health, learning disability or other vulnerabilities when they first come onto contact with the criminal justice system or Immigration Removal Centre. We look to identify unmet need and vulnerabilities that often lead to or exacerbate offending behaviour, offer onward referral and signposting as appropriate. We liaise across agencies to support onward planning and intervention to address identified needs. The Health and Justice service can work in Police Custody Suites, Courts, Prisons, Immigration Removal Centre and Community and offer assessments to individuals within the Criminal Justice system or Immigration System. This is an 'all age' service and so you will be required to work with people from the age of 10 years upwards.
This Role Is Subject To Additional Prison Vetting
The post holder will be expected to travel across the MPFT footprint.
