Position Overview

We are hiring Healthcare Support Workers to join our incredible team in Medicine based at Royal Bournemouth Hospital.

Responsibilities
  • Provide compassionate, non-judgemental, and effective care to patients, ensuring safety and dignity.
  • Assess care needs of patients with direct supervision.
  • Deliver clinical tasks including venepuncture, cannulation, ECGs, and other duties once trained.
  • Work holistically, supporting social inclusion, recognising individual choice, and acknowledging diversity.
  • Collaborate with health and social care professionals, students, trainees, agencies, and service users, carers, and families.
  • Contribute to practice development and complete work-based training associated with the role.
  • Maintain high standards of documentation and uphold Trust Policies, Procedures and Guidelines.
Qualifications & Requirements

Applicants should be dedicated, compassionate, organised, and capable of managing time efficiently while building strong relationships with colleagues.

Additional Information

We are in the process of transforming and in Summer 2026 patients will move across to UHD's new COAST Building, also based at Royal Bournemouth Hospital. This is a brand new, purpose built inpatient area and marks an exciting new step forward for Respiratory Medicine in Dorset. Ongoing work decides which wards staff will be based, so please be aware of this when applying.
