Job summary

A healthcare service provider in Ashford is seeking a qualified Healthcare Assistant to support the clinical team in providing patient care. Job description

On11th March 2019, three well established practices merged to becomeAshford Medical Partnership. Willesborough Health Centre, Singleton HealthCentre and St Stephens Health Centre serve a practice population of over 36,000patients.

Thepractices are all located in the heart of Ashford and are approximately2.5miles apart. The sites are within easy reach of Junctions 9 and 10 of theM20 and we are a few minutes from Ashford International train station.

The current workforce is led by 6 GP Partners, 6 Salaried GPs, 10 Allied Health Professionals and a large Nursing and HCA Team. The clinical team is complimented by a General Manager and a large Administrative team.

Main duties of the job

Working under the direct supervision of the lead practice nurse and strictly in accordance with specific practice guidelines andprotocols, the healthcare assistant will assist the practice clinical team inthe provision and delivery of prescribed programmes of patient care.

Job responsibilities

Job responsibilities:

New patient health checks

ECG recording

Processing and managementof laboratory samples requested by GPs/nurses

Sterilising, cleansingand maintenance of surgical equipment

Vaccine/cold chainstorage, monitoring and recording

Surgical equipment andvaccine re-stocking and stock rotation

Clearing and re-stockingconsulting rooms

Preparing and maintainingenvironments and equipment before, during and after patient care interventions,including assisting GPs during the performance of minor operations

Assisting in theassessment and surveillance of patients health and well-being

Undertaking specificclinical activities for named patients that have been delegated and taughtspecifically in relation to that individual

Helping to raiseawareness of health and well-being and how it can be promoted

Assisting with thecollection and collation of data on needs related to health and well-being

Qualifications
  • Qualified to at least NVQ level 3

Experience
  • Experience of working with the general public.
  • Experience of working as an Health Care Assistant.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
