A public agency in the UK seeks a health and safety professional to join their team in Swansea. In this fast-paced role, you'll engage with stakeholders, produce health and safety reports, and ensure compliance with legislation and ISO standards. Applicants should have a full UK driving licence and be prepared to work outside normal hours. Benefits include a generous pension contribution and flexible working options.
We are looking for a health and safety professional in a fast-paced role at the DVLA. You will use your interpersonal skills to engage with stakeholders and produce thorough, accurate health and safety reports and risk assessments.
The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA) registers and licenses drivers and vehicles in Great Britain, enforces Vehicle Excise Duty, and provides data and services to support public safety and decision-making. We are committed to delivering simple, secure and efficient services that make a difference to millions of people every day.
You will develop, implement, and periodically review health and safety policies, procedures, safe systems of work, method statements, and risk assessments, in line with core health and safety competencies and ISO 45001 standards. You will provide specialist advice and support to internal and external stakeholders, ensuring consistent application of processes and procedures. You may undertake line management responsibilities, and will be supported to develop these skills if you have not previously worked as a line manager. Flexibility and adaptability are essential, including support outside normal hours as part of an on-call rota (an allowance is paid). DVLA estates are spread across Morriston, Fforestfach, and Swansea Vale, so a full, valid UK driving licence is essential.
This is a fast-paced, varied role in which no two days are the same. You will join a supportive, knowledgeable, close-knit team and be encouraged to develop your skills and advance in your career.
Role requires a full, valid UK driving licence due to multiple sites across DVLA estates. You may be required to undertake line management responsibilities. You will be expected to support the business outside of normal working hours as part of an on-call rota with an allowance. For more information on the role, please refer to the role profile (information purposes only; not all elements may be assessed during recruitment).
