Job summary

A leading UK contractor is seeking a Health & Safety Advisor for their Southern Division team. This role involves conducting site audits, reviewing Risk Assessments, and supporting operational teams in maintaining Health & Safety standards across multiple projects. The ideal candidate will have Health & Safety experience in construction or M&E contracting and must be NEBOSH qualified. Competitive salary up to £40,000 plus car allowance and extensive benefits, including 35 days of annual leave.

Health & Safety Advisor - National UK M&E Contractor (Southern Division)

Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 + £7,000 Car Allowance

The Company

A market‑leading £100m group of companies specialising in mechanical and electrical building services engineering — delivering full lifecycle solutions from initial concept and design through to installation and ongoing facilities management and maintenance.

The Role

We are seeking a Health & Safety Advisor to join the Southern Division team. This is a key role supporting the Regional Health & Safety Manager, promoting best practice across multiple live M&E projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct regular site audits and inspections, producing detailed reports.
  • Review and monitor Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).
  • Assist in accident and incident investigations (not leading), including taking witness statements and compiling reports.
  • Assist with preparing monthly Health & Safety reports.
  • Support operational teams to maintain consistent H&S standards across all disciplines.
  • Promote and embed best practice in line with company and legislative requirements.
The Person
  • Some Health & Safety experience within construction or M&E contracting environments.
  • NEBOSH qualified (General or Construction).
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Practical, proactive and solutions‑driven approach.
  • Able to work effectively as part of a larger project team in a live construction environment.
The Package
  • Competitive salary: £35,000 - £40,000 (depending on experience).
  • Car allowance: £7,000.
