Health & Safety Advisor – Desalination Project
We’re looking for a passionate and hands‑on Health & Safety Advisor to join a leading civil engineering team on an exciting desalination project in Leiston, Suffolk. What You’ll Be Doing
- Be the on‑site go‑to for all health, safety, and environment matters.
- Carry out inspections, audits, and safety tours to keep everyone safe and compliant.
- Support site teams with RAMS, Construction Phase Plans, and other key documentation.
- Ensure everything on site aligns with CDM Regulations 2015, company procedures, and industry best practice.
- Lead investigations when incidents or near misses occur – find the root cause and help the team learn.
- Run engaging inductions, toolbox talks, and safety briefings that people actually listen to.
- Build strong relationships with client HSEQ teams, local regulators, and your site crew.
- Champion wellbeing, sustainability, and continuous improvement – because good safety is good business.
What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience as a Health & Safety Advisor on civil engineering, infrastructure, or utilities projects.
- Ideally some exposure to water or desalination works – a solid civil background is also valuable.
- A working knowledge of UK safety legislation, CDM Regulations, and practical site‑based risk management.
- An approachable, confident, and influential team player from the ground up.
Your Qualifications
- NEBOSH Construction or General Certificate (essential).
- Tech IOSH or working towards membership (desirable).
- CSCS (Managers/Professionals) card.
- First Aid, Fire Marshal, or Environmental qualifications are a bonus.
- Full UK driving licence with flexibility to work across the Leiston area.
