Head Veterinary Nurse – Preston, Lancashire
£35,000 + excellent benefits | Full-time | 1 in 6 weekends

We’re seeking a confident, forward-thinking Head Veterinary Nurse to lead clinical operations at a well-established and expanding practice. You’ll manage and develop the nursing team, ensure exceptional standards of patient care, and play a key role in the practice’s transformation.

The site offers a wide range of surgical and diagnostic capabilities, including laparoscopy, endoscopy, TTA kit, patella luxation equipment, ultrasound, digital and dental X-ray, capnography, and ventilators. You will work alongside a talented team, including multiple certificate holders, with the support of a dedicated Practice Manager.

What we’re looking for:

  • RCVS-registered Veterinary Nurse.
  • 2+ years’ UK post-qualification experience.
  • Leadership and coaching skills.
  • Passion for high-quality client and patient care.

Key duties:

  • Oversee clinical standards and regulatory compliance.
  • Manage and mentor the nursing team.
  • Support vet-led procedures and run nurse clinics.
  • Drive continuous improvement in care and operations.

Hours: 40 per week, full-time, with 1 in 6 weekends at a nearby 24-hour hospital
