• Able to pass full security vetting and DBS checks.

Job Overview

Permanent, full‑time Head Steward position at Aramark UK, working at Alamein Combined Mess, Munster Barracks, DL9 3QG.

Responsibilities

• Supervision of services within the Mess operational business area.
• Accountability for the effective supervision and performance of frontline colleagues within the mess, ensuring delivery of steward services to the required standard.
• Assist with function preparation as directed by the mess manager (silver cleaning, dining room layout, napkins, etc.).
• Completion of company paperwork.
• Reception duties and messing.
• Cash handling and till operation.
• Supervise the team in providing quality laundry, accommodation, mess‑room, and janitorial services, always adhering to health and safety.

Requirements

• Previous experience of working in a Mess in an operational role.
• Good numerical and communication skills.
• Knowledge of health & safety and food safety.
• Good working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Must have been a UK resident for the past 3 years and have legal right to work in the UK.
• Able to pass full security vetting and DBS checks.
• Ability to cover sickness/holiday, functions and occasional weekends as required.

Salary

£12.52 per hour / £29,551 per year (estimated).
