Job description
Overview

Putlands Veterinary Surgery is a mixed vet practice located in Paddock Wood, Kent. Putlands pride themselves on their provision to the community in treating pets, farm animals and equine and providing the highest standard of veterinary care to all. Through the variety of patients, they offer an opportunity for its nursing team to develop an extensive list of skills and qualifications and explore interests.

We are looking for a Head Registered Veterinary Nurse to lead our close knit, passionate team for 40 hours a week. The hours will be working between Monday - Friday 8am to 7pm. Saturday 8am to 12noon. We can offer flexibility on days, but to include 2 in 7 Saturdays with time back in lieu. This is a fixed term position covering maternity starting in August 2025 for 12 months.

We would welcome someone to be innovative with what our nursing team can offer and develop them further. You will ideally have either a further clinical qualification or management experience so you can guide our team forwards and make us even better! We will happily support your further development. We are a nurse training practice so we would need someone who would be happy to be a clinical coach for SVNs (training provided if needed).

There are many opportunities and pathways for Nurses within our wider group! If you are looking to progress into leadership or management within a practice or perhaps something remote based, we can support you. We have recently launched “CVS Nursing Career Pathway” with the aim of demonstrating clear career progression for nurses across first opinion, referral and equine practices. You can have lifelong career here, regardless of what your current interest is!

CVS is committed to being a fully inclusive place to work where all our colleagues are encouraged and supported to be themselves, where difference is celebrated and where everyone feels able to deliver their best. We are also determined to build a workforce that is more representative of our diverse communities and the people we provide our services to.
