The USPCA is seeking an experienced and passionate Head of Veterinary Surgery to lead our clinical team at the Animal Hospital in Newry. This is a senior leadership role combining surgical excellence, operational oversight, and strategic vision to deliver high-quality veterinary care and advance animal welfare.

What You’ll Do
  • Lead all veterinary services, ensuring best-practice standards across routine, complex, and emergency procedures.
  • Perform surgeries (including neutering and emergency interventions) and diagnostic tests (X-rays, ultrasound).
  • Provide compassionate care for companion animals, injured wildlife, and rescued strays.
  • Mentor and manage a dedicated team of vets, nurses, and support staff.
  • Oversee clinical governance, compliance, and operational efficiency.
  • Shape the future of USPCA’s veterinary services through strategic planning and community engagement.
