Regulated by both the PRA and FCA, we offer Before‑the‑Event (BTE) and After‑the‑Event (ATE) insurance alongside a range of general insurance products designed to deliver real results.

As Head of Underwriting, you’ll play a pivotal role in strengthening the business, ensuring risk management excellence, enhancing efficiency, and inspiring a high‑performing underwriting team.

Your key responsibilities include:
  • Crafting and refining the company's underwriting strategy to achieve profitable growth, increased market share, and disciplined risk selection.
  • Leading the Underwriting Committee, balancing commercial opportunities with rigorous risk governance.
  • Overseeing portfolio and scheme performance, assessing loss ratios, retention trends, and making key adjustment proposals to support growth.
  • Enhancing product design, policy wordings, and underwriting guidelines to stay competitive and compliant.
  • Acting as a key point of contact for regulators, brokers, clients, and stakeholders, ensuring transparency and confidence in account performance.
  • Spearheading underwriting system improvements, embedding automation to increase efficiency and consistency in decision‑making.
  • Providing technical guidance to internal teams, while forging strong, trustful relationships with brokers and clients.
  • Championing compliance to meet FCA regulations, industry standards, and internal governance requirements.

This is a strategic senior position where you’ll work closely with the Managing Director and Executive team to shape long‑term business strategy, drive market position improvement, and ensure exceptional operational integrity.
