Join us as a Head of Supply Chain and you’ll be a big part of this.

Role Purpose: As a Head of Supply Chain at B&Q, you will be responsible for developing and executing the end-to-end supply chain strategy, from vendor to customer, for your category area. You will lead and develop a high-performing and inclusive team of Supply Chain Managers, Analysts and Assistants to ensure strong product availability by managing stock effectively across our distribution and fulfilment channels, including our extensive store network and Click and Collect and Home Delivery propositions. This role is key to ensuring exceptional customer experience and choice and fundamental to running a responsible business.

What’s the job?

Key Accountabilities / Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop a team of Managers, Analysts and Assistants to deliver strong category supply performance for our customer and the business
  • Be accountable for demand (for continuity product) and supply forecasting and planning, from vendor to customer, to deliver availability and stock and stock health targets
  • Build excellent business relationships (win together), especially with commercial and all business category teams to understand and support deliver our overall business objectives, category strategies and successful execution of planned and agile events (e.g. promotions, range reviews, campaigns, layflats)
  • Develop effective relationships across our vendors to achieve required delivery performance
  • Be an active member of our leadership team, contribute to the continuous improvement of the business and supply by leading cross-category initiatives
  • Develop, coach and inspire a high-performance and inclusive culture, including the role modelling of our behaviours, and the nurturing of talent.
What we need:

Required Skills & Experience:

  • A proven leader: An authentic and inspiring leader, with a track record of being able to shape and lead strategic and cultural change. Able to build, motivate and develop high-performing teams whilst promoting a health balance between delivery, personal growth and work-life balance
  • Tactical and strategic supply chain planning: Good understanding and ideally direct experience of tactical and strategic supply chain planning preferred
  • Understanding of Retail or Home Improvement sector: not essential but preferable to have good understanding of Retail and further the Home Improvement sector
  • Building relationships and winning together: Can build excellent relationships and can shape how to win together, can give and receive feedback constructively, able to influence at all levels across the business
  • Customer and commercial focus: Has a clear passion for customers combined with strong commercial acumen
  • Data-driven decision making: Confident creating insight from data to drive performance, able to prioritise effectively and focus on what matters most
  • Thrives in complex environments: Comfortable with uncertainty and navigating the challenges of a large, agile and matrixed organisation
