MacGregor Black is partnering with a fast-growing, London-based fashion brand to recruit a Head of Retail . This is a permanent role offering the opportunity to shape the brand’s retail footprint, customer experience, and commercial performance across the UK and beyond.

The Head of Retail will be responsible for shaping and executing the end-to-end retail strategy for a contemporary fashion brand. This is a senior leadership role combining store performance, people leadership, customer experience, and expansion strategy. You will lead a dynamic retail team, drive commercial growth, and ensure the brand delivers a best-in-class in-store experience aligned with its identity and values.

This role is ideal for a retail leader who thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment and understands how to scale fashion retail through strong teams, operational excellence, and customer-centric thinking.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own the full retail strategy for the business, setting the vision for store performance, customer experience, and expansion.
  • Develop and deliver annual retail plans aligned to commercial targets, brand objectives, and growth ambitions.
  • Lead and optimise performance across all stores, driving sales, productivity, and profitability.
  • Ensure the brand experience is delivered consistently across all retail locations, maintaining high visual, service, and operational standards.
  • Oversee store openings, refits, and relocations, working closely with senior stakeholders and external partners.
  • Drive customer experience excellence through training, service standards, and in-store engagement.
  • Analyse sales, KPIs, and customer data to identify opportunities for improvement and growth.
  • Collaborate closely with Merchandising and Buying to ensure product strategy aligns with customer demand and store performance.
  • Work with Marketing and E-Commerce teams to deliver integrated campaigns, launches, and omnichannel initiatives.
  • Lead the development and execution of retail operational processes, ensuring efficiency and scalability.
  • Build, lead, coach, and inspire a high-performing retail leadership team, fostering a culture of accountability and development.
  • Manage retail budgets, payroll, and cost controls, reporting on performance and ROI to senior leadership.
  • Ensure compliance with health & safety, HR policies, and legal requirements across the retail estate.
What We’re Looking For
  • Proven experience leading retail operations within a fashion, lifestyle, or premium consumer brand.
  • Strong commercial acumen with a track record of driving sales growth and store profitability.
  • Experience managing multi-site retail teams and developing senior store leadership.
  • Deep understanding of customer experience, visual merchandising, and brand storytelling in-store.
  • Confident strategic thinker with the ability to execute operationally at pace.
  • Collaborative leader with experience working cross-functionally across Marketing, E-Commerce, Merchandising, and Operations.
  • Data-driven and results-focused, comfortable reporting to senior stakeholders.
  • Passion for fashion, brand culture, and delivering exceptional retail experiences.
