Job summary

A leading recruitment agency is seeking an experienced professional to head the Projects Division based on the outskirts of Dartford. You will lead a team of around 15 Project Managers, Engineers, and apprentices, delivering mechanical and electrical projects up to £3.5 million. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of CDM regulations, experience in managing budgets, and hold a relevant engineering qualification. This role demands a commitment to customer focus and team development.

Qualifications

  • Live within 1 hour commuting to the head office in Dartford.
  • Experience delivering mechanical and electrical projects of up to £3.5 million.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the projects team effectively.
  • Deliver projects of up to £3.5 million.
  • Manage financials including WIPs, profitability and budgets.
  • Ensure customer focus and maintain relationships with clients.
  • Assist in business development.

Skills

Mechanically biased
Understanding of CDM regulations
5 years experience in similar role
Full UK driving licence
Access to a vehicle

Education

Qualification in mechanical, electrical or air conditioning engineering
Job description

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for one of my clients based on the outskirts of Dartford, they are looking for someone to head up their Projects Division.

The main purpose of the role is to lead and motivate and manage the projects team as well as identify new opportunities, tendering and delivering projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Delivering projects of up to £3.5 million
  • Manage a team of around 15 consisting of Project Managers, Engineers and apprentices
  • Managing the financials including WIPs, profitability and budgets
  • Ensuring a customer focus environment and relationships are maintained with clients
  • Assisting in Business Development
  • Provide financial forecasts to the Directors
  • Manage delivery of projects within an agreed budget and timeframe
  • Ensure projects adhere to QSHE policies and procedures
  • Responsible for completion of appraisals, performance reviews, training and development of the team
Key Skills
  • Mechanically biased
  • Good understanding of CDM regulations
  • Live within 1 hour commuting to the head office in Dartford
  • Hold a full UK driving licence and have access to a vehicle
  • A qualification in mechanical, electrical or air conditioning engineering
  • 5 years in a similar role delivering mechanical and electrical projects of up to £3.5 million
