What You'll Be Doing
- Own and deliver the technical vision, engineering roadmap, and product strategy.
- Collaborate with executives and stakeholders to ensure technical feasibility of new product concepts.
- Lead the development, testing, and prototyping of innovative new products.
- Support legacy product improvements and provide technical leadership across production activities.
- Oversee system architecture, technical design, scalability, and performance optimisation.
- Drive best-in-class engineering practices, DFM/DFA principles, and quality compliance.
- Support technical sales activities, including customer meetings, quotations, and product specifications.
- Champion continuous improvement, innovation, and emerging technology adoption.
- Lead, develop, and mentor a high-performing engineering team, promoting collaboration and inclusion
ProfileWhat We're Looking For
- 10+ years' experience in product and mechanical design, ideally within electro-mechanical engineering.
- Proven leadership in product development and technical strategy.
- Strong 3D CAD skills (SolidWorks preferred) and ability to create technical drawings.
- Knowledge of DFM/DFA principles and experience with tolerance drawings and assembly instructions.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues across hardware and electronics.
- Hands-on, proactive approach with a "can do, will do" mindset.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the confidence to influence at SLT level.
- Based in Cardiff (hybrid: 3 days in office, typically Tues-Thurs).
